z5500 speakers making loud zzzz noise

Hi I bought them around 2 years ago and worked 100% then suddenly one day, there was a loud cracking noise in the speakers like something was braking up and from that moment soon after there is a loud zzzz noise coming from all speakrs but most loudly from the woofer.

No matter what volume I turn the zzzz noise is constantly same volume!

I bough a replacement driver woofer speaker and put it in. It worked fine for about 1 hour then same zzz noise!

What is wrong?

I had a set of these for 12 years.... then they died this year and I replaced them with Z906. Z5500 are great speakers, I really miss mine, but getting a good set is hit and miss.

I think the amp is built into the speaker unit so might be that. Could replace fuse and see if that helps - there is a compartment at back for the fuse, I replaced it once.
