It’s not so much fun to watch videos and content on the smaller screen of your mobile device. To solve that, you can mirror the content on your phone via Roku or even cast channels to your Roku device.
Casting your channels to your Roku device may seem complicated. Follow these simple steps to learn how.
1. Open ‘Settings’
Open the Roku ‘Settings’ by scrolling down on your ‘Home’ menu and selecting the ‘Settings’ option. The ‘Settings’ preferences will open on your screen.
2. Select ‘System’
Scroll to the bottom of the ‘Settings’ menu, and select the ‘System’ option. The ‘System’ settings will be displayed on the screen.
3. Select ‘Screen Mirroring’
Select ‘Screen mirroring’. The Screen mirroring options will be displayed on the screen.
4. Choose ‘Screen Mirroring Mode’
Select the ‘Screen Mirroring Mode’ option. The options to choose from are ‘Prompt’, ‘Always allow’, and ‘Never allow’. For easy screen casting, choose the ‘Always allow’ option. This means you will not be prompted every time you want to cast your mobile device screen.
Before casting, make sure your Roku and the mobile device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Casting is done via Wi-Fi on almost all mobile devices, so it is essential for them to use the same network.
5. Cast From Mobile Device
On most devices, there will be either a ‘Wireless Display’, or ‘Cast Screen’ option. This will be in the ‘Display Settings’ or ‘General Settings’ menus.
A list showing all available screens to cast will appear. You need to select the ‘Roku’ option. The content on your screen will be cast onto the display that Roku is connected to.
You will now be able to cast your favourite channels to your Roku device.
