How to Connect Your Roku Device to a Network

Your Roku Device can stream videos from various online channels, but you first need to connect it to a good network. You can connect your Roku to the internet by using an ethernet connection or wirelessly via Wi-Fi.

Follow these simple steps to connect your Roku.

1. Open ‘Settings’
Open the ‘Home’ menu by pressing the ‘Home’ button. Use your remote to scroll down to the ‘Settings option’, and select it. The ‘Settings’ menu will open.

2. Open ‘Network’ Settings
Select the ‘Network’ settings option in the ‘Settings’ menu. The ‘Network’ Settings menu will open. You will see two options to connect to the internet: ‘Wired’ and ‘Wireless’.
If you want to connect your Roku to he internet via ethernet, use the ‘Wired’ connection option. Make sure you have connected the ethernet cable to the right port on your Roku before proceeding.

3. Connect to ‘Network’
When you have chosen your connection method, select the ‘Set Up New Connection’ option on the menu. Roku will now scan for available networks in the area. A list of all networks will appear.

4. Select Your ‘Network’
Scroll to your 'Preferred Network' by using your remote, and select it. Another prompt asking you to enter your network login details will appear.
If you are using a ethernet connection, this screen will not appear. You will be directly connected to the network after following the step below.

5. Connect to ‘Network’
Enter the ‘Username’ and ‘Password’ of your network and hit the ‘Connect’ button. Roku will try and connect to the specified network.

Your Roku device will now be connected to your preferred network.
