In order to connect to people on LinkedIn, you must send them a connection invitation, or they should do the same for you. If you are new to LinkedIn, and none of your employers, friends, or professional colleagues know this, it is important for you to send them a LinkedIn connection invitation on your own.

Here’s how you can send a connection invitation to LinkedIn users:

    ■Log on to your computer.
    ■Open your favorite web browser by double-clicking its icon.
    ■Once opened, in the address bar, type www.linkedin.com and press Enter to open the site.
    ■If you are not already logged in, provide your account credentials in the available fields at the top-right corner.
    ■Click the Sign In button to sign-in to your LinkedIn account.
    ■On your profile’s Home page, in the search field at the top, type the name of the person you want to connect to.
    ■Click the Search button (icon with the magnifying glass) to perform the search.

    ■From the displayed search results, click the Connect button representing the name of the LinkedIn user you wish to connect to.
