ASUS NOTEBOOK hard drive is erased. Cannot boot to windows 10 and none of the troubleshooting choices in advanced options do anything. How can I get the PC to factory reset?

Solution
Sorry but I don't get it???

In the first sentence you are saying that the hard drive is erased.

In the second sentence you are saying that none of the advanced options do anything.

If you are getting advanced options then your hard drive is not erased (completely anyway) ... so which is it?

If you have already tried factory resetting ...

... then have you followed as per the video and had no success? Re-check your selected options.

If you have in fact wiped the drive including the recovery partition then unless you created a backup USB (which you should have) then you have a couple of options.

1) If you are in the U.S then you have access to recovery media via...

1) If you are in the U.S then you have access to recovery media via:

https://www.asus.com/us/support/article/782/

You will have to pay for it via (as per the link on the ASUS webpage):

http://www.bizcom-us.com/asus/rmrequest.htm

Note that via https://www.asus.com/us/support/article/782/ it clearly states this is only available in the U.S ... whereas on http://www.bizcom-us.com/asus/rmrequest.htm it says "If you purchased your ASUS computer elsewhere, please contact the ASUS subsidiary where you purchased it for information about recovery media."

I've read other forums/threads/posts saying that ASUS will not supply recovery media but then I don't own an ASUS so I couldn't say for sure ... but you can always try.

I would go the old "well if you're not willing to supply a recovery media to me then I will most certainly NOT be recommending ASUS to anyone I know and will not be buying another of your products ever again" avenue.

Sometimes a good whinge and the threat of last purchase through that particular Manufacturer might get you somewhere but again ... who knows.

I hate to say it again but you really should have created a Recovery USB as soon as unboxing the thing but lots of folks do the same and I guess you'll have to take one on the chin if they wont come to the party - lesson learned.

Last comment - your other option is to buy a copy of 10 - if you decide to do so then I would recommend a Retail license so at least you can move it to a different machine after your hardware eventually dies.
