120 Hz HDTV Running at 60 hz

Hello,
I just got the an insignia 42" 1080p 120hz hdtv, When i play games or watch tv though, it says that its running 60 hz, I checked the settings and it says that the 120 hz feature is on, so I dunno whats wrong.

the signal feed into the 120hz tv is still only 60hz. could it be listing this instead of the display hz?

do you have game mode turned on?

what is your setup
