160 gig ipod as external drive for android?

I've got an old iPod 1st gen 160 gig and I was wondering if it could be used as an external hard drive for my android tablet?

First you would need to connect the ipod to your mac/pc and in itunes you change the operating mode to either 'disk use' or 'manually manage' depending on which version ipod you have. The setting is on the sunmmary tab IIRC.

will my tablet be able to recognize it as a storage device after that? ive got a usb o the go i can use to connect them.
