Alright here is the situation. I am looking to buy a gaming/desktop replacement laptop for college. I've narrowed my choices down to two g73 laptops.

I'm wondering if anybody has any opinions between the 1600x900 resolution and 1080p. I've been using a 1080p 22" monitor for my desktop for quite some time now and I don't know if the two resolutions will matter on a 17" screen. Also, I can take the 22" 1080p monitor I have to school as well for gaming or just general usage. I'm just wondering if people have any personal experience between the two resolutions. Part of me wants the 1080p resolution just because it's something I wouldn't be able to upgrade in the future, as opposed to the hard drive or memory.

By the way, I've decided that the difference in hard drive space is not an issue for me, and I feel like 6gb of memory won't be a huge downgrade from 8gb. However, I wouldn't mind some input on this either. The cost difference isn't really a *huge* deal and I'll be using this laptop for everything school related, games, and a little photo/video editing (more of a hobby).

I had a 19" Samsung monitor with 1600x900 resolution for awhile and I thought it was rather crisp/clear. However, when I bought a Dell 23" 1080p monitor, I found it to be a night and day difference between the old Samsung. Much clearer and crisper image. If given a choice, I'd go for the 1080p resolution.
