drooool

Now all I have to do is convince the wife to let me take out a second mortgage on the house, sell the kid on e-Bay and sell 1000 gallons of blood.

you could open up a neighborhood movie theater with those types of specs. i wonder if imax has a higher resolution.

[citation][nom]chaohsiangchen[/nom]I wonder how Crysis would perform on 4096x2400 4AA Very High with Core i7 975 and ATI HD5870 in triple crossfire.[/citation]

1 frame per minute.

"Current gen console" You mean the current gen consoles in which 90% of the games barely achieve 720p resolution? You can upscale all you want, unless you have a native source its not going to look better than whats on the market right now.

As for the 4 screens simultaneously, that does sound like it could have some interesting applications.

Guy: I just sold my house.
Friend: Why? Are you moving? Do you owe people money?
Guy: Neah I just saw this great projector that I just had to have.
Friend:*faints*

1 single 5870 can run WoW on max settings @ 7680 x 3200 using 6 30" Dell screens and get 80 fps

Have heard 1 5870 can run Crysis 4xAA 16xAF on Very High @ 1900x1200 min30 avg43 max54 fps

hehe

Can't wait ^^

yup, that's what IMAX is... sort of. IMAX uses two 2K resolution projectors overlaid on each other. This one does 4K in a single shot. So yes, you get better than an IMAX picture with this thing.

seems excessive, what content are you going to watch that matches the res here? Everything is going to have to be upscaled (unless perhaps you content a computer and play a game). Why not save thousands and buy a normal HD projector?

Let's see...i have two kidney's, only need one. Ebay that, two testicles...ebay one to some freaky rich congo cannible. Sell one ears...yup. That should be enough.

Why not buy four mid/top performing 1920x1080 projectors, do a 2x2 layout of the projection on the screen surface, position the screen matrix for horizontal and vertical spanning on the computer or video splitter/recombiner and down size to the $125,000 sports car?

I can't imagine gaming on that baby!
On the other hand I don't know of any video cards that could really pull off that resolution. I'd be happy with a 1080p projector, I saw one the other day, Infocus 10X for $1,199. I would love to buy it but my wife would be pissed and I'm pretty sure I won't be able to convice her.
