Im in the market for a good gaming laptop for world of warcraft and RTS type games. I have several builds under my belt and happy with all that but with the kids getting older and hogging the pc with school work and games of their own we need a lap to throw around the house. I know money talks and prob would go with an acer predator (1300$) or asus rog (1800$ )depending on how much i want to spend. My real concern is the gpu (1070) currently are an the outs and how long will it be untill we see these new nvidia cards that are coming out next month in laptops. I really dont need it today. I know the 1070 card will be fine and for a while at least, but i hate when i buy something and just a few short months later its on clearance or i could have went with the latest tech and these new cards are no longer a leak/rumor, their coming!!!! Lol Thanks

Its hard to say. Sometimes the mobile variant will launch a few months after the desktop variant, for example the GTX 1070M launched in August while the GTX 1070 launched in May of 2016.

It all depends on how they are going to do it, for example will they just be MXM variants of the desktop chips or will they be different all together.

I think tehy will be different since the TDP is higher but that's just my guess.

Fair enough, thanks. Prob not worth waiting
I pretty much narrowed it down to what i want
17 inch 144hz ips g-sync display(not sure if necessary over 60hz for me)
intel i7 8th gen chip
Gtx 1070(not sure if the 1060 would be just fine, assumed 1070 will last longer)
16gb ddr4 memory
256gb ssd or better
Any know of a few good laptops that dont overheat with these specs or better, thanks
