Hi all,

I'm looking for some advise on buying a 2.1 sound system for use with my PC. I've done some research and found 3 options that seem to be of good specs and within my price range, but any input will be much appreciated.
I'm not a tech wiz, so if my choices are silly I'd like to know that too!
I am looking to replace my old Logitech Z4 with one of the following:

Corsair SP2500 (http://www.scan.co.uk/products/corsair-gaming-audio-series-sp2500-high-power-21-pc-speaker-system-wiith-sub-woofer-232watts-rms-wir)

Edifier C2XD (http://www.edifier-international.com/products/edifier-multimedia/c2xd)

Edifier C3X (http://www.edifier-international.com/products/edifier-multimedia/c3x)

My main questions would be:

1) Is the 'optical input' making much of a difference quality wise?

2) I never heard of Edifier before, but they seem to have good reviews, has anyone ever dealt with them before?

Is there anything specific I should take into account when making my decision? The system would be situated close to the PC in a small living room (hence I decided not to go for more satelites).

Any more info needed, please give me a shout.

Thank you

UPDATE: Also, worth mentioning, I am looking to use it with my ASUS Xonar DGX Sound Card.

You don't mention a budget, or, what country you are in, which makes a difference in what may be available.

Optical sound is pretty clean, better than 1/8" or 1/4" jacks or RCA's, but probably not as good or as capable as HDMI sound.

Personally, for under fifty bucks, I'd go with the Genius SW-G2.1. Some models might be out of stock right now but that's not unusual though right after Christmas. Any products that are great for the price usually get really scarce this time of the year.

All of these below are very good options and whichever one you choose will be unlikely to leave you feeling like you bought a bunch of crap:

I live in the UK, and my budget would be up to around 170 pounds (around 280 dollars), but this would be pushing it. As to the options you've mentioned, I'm looking for something a bit higher class/quality. Ideally with a remote.
