I bought a gtx 1660 ti and when I put it in my pc that has a Lenovo m91p motherboard it fails to boot up or display anything at all. the card works fine in my friends msi motherboard so idk.

Not likely you will get that card working on that older OEM motherboard or system. As long as you know you have a good enough power supply to run the card, try doing a BIOS update and then checking if the card will work.

Trying to get a gaming card in a business class system is not always successful. Especially when dealing with older motherboards and newer video cards.
