2 set of speakers, 2 different audio sources, can i make them each set sound each different source?

Hi guys!

So i have 2 sets of speakers, one connected through 3.5 mm and the other set of speakers connected through usb.

Now, lets say i play music and i see a video on youtube. I want the speakers connected through 3.5mm to play the music, and the usb ones, to play youtube. Is this possible?

im only using my motherboard, no soundcard or anything.

Possible, depends on the application used - the browser based players will not be very flexible and will use default sound device.

VLC on the other hand will let you choose your audio output device, so if you use VLC to play music, yes.

Ok, so im using spotify for music on my pc, and google chrome for watching youtube. How would i do this?

In that case you will need to use a 3rd party app that will allow you to choose between output devices like Audio Router, there is a good vid on how to use it here.
