2 tvs on one digital receiver

About hooking up two tvs to one satelite box or receiver.

I want to hook up two tv's to one digital box, say a comcast box or a dish satelite box using a splitter.

My question is whether I can watch different channels simultaneously on the two tvs.

No. The box is what selects the channel to display.
Same output to two devices.
