Yeah, whatever, Gruener, we all know you're an Apple zealot.
Truth is, once you get a feel of the S-AMOLED screen that Samsung phones sport, you can not go back to any LCD, be it iphone or other. Whenever the iCrowd sees my screen, they get a frown on their self-sufficient faces... And I believe a screen is the most important thing in a SMARTPHONE.
Another reason is that I just don't like being locked down by some iOS stupid way of telling me how/what to install; and that iTunes, is a major iPain in the A$$.
Got my reasons listed there; others could follow, but you get the idea.

[citation][nom]rooket[/nom]I don't need reasons not to buy one.I don't buy overpriced phones, data plans, abundance of useless Apple gizmos.[/citation]

The IPhone is the exact same price as most of the Android devices. What are you talking about. Nevermind that every year the carriers do early udgrades for the IPhones if you sign another 2 year contract. No one actually pays the unsubsidized price.

You my friend are delusional. I have yet to see a Android phone with a better screen than the IPhone. Samsung Galaxy S2 included. Not even close. Granted they have nice screens compared to other devices but the IPhone 4 is not one of those devices. 3GS on down, absolutely, 4G hell no. That should change soon however when the Android devices get a higher resolution screen but right now, not so much.

So, I should not upgrade if I have an iPhone 2?

I'm not going to a contract service... I have a BB on Boost Mobile, and am sticking with it for now...

Nice try, but if you're going to post a link to a CDMA development group's site - you're not going to get unbiased results.

Have you ever left the US with a CDMA phone? I have, didn't work in France, England, Switzerland, Taiwan...

I live in Washington DC. Almost all of my friends don't purchase CDMA phones because they can't use them when they go home: India, Netherlands, Spain, Hong Kong, Egypt, West Bank, Brasil, Argentina...

First hand experience vs quoting a CDMA promotion website :)

Oh and this site needs more troll bait for Android fans to vent like someone punched their baby and kicked their dog, LOL!

If Android better then you shouldn't be so angry, iOS will fail and we'll all use Android and no one will have a choice! YAY

[citation]Would you get rid of your car a year or two into its financing (which would result in a huge monetary loss) for the privilege of getting those new features?[/citation]

Are you really comparing the purchase of a cell phone to the purchase of a motor vehicle? Wtf?

If you're paying 100/ month why not get the most out of this contract? If I had a iphone 3g, iphone 3gs, or any of the droid phones (I've already tried using 3 different ones) I would upgrade. The droid phones just feel like you're using a computer still, they dont switch as smoothly, perhaps the newest ones do, I can admit that I have not tried those. Nonetheless, even another buddy of mine's iphone 3gs switches pages smoother than all of the droids I've tried. The only reason why people that I have talked to own a droid (i know about 5 of them) and refuse to switch to an iphone (2 of them, the other 3 will be switching) is because they said so many bad things about the iphone when it was only AT&T's and that they know they would look ridiculous carrying one around now after claiming their phone is "just as good". Lets face it, if its "just as good" why not buy what its "just as good" as. Anyways, I like that your article reaches out to those that are not interested in tech developments, i think its great. My own parents were in that field not too long ago, luckily I was able to introduce my parents to an iphone which is soo much simpler to use and now my dad loves it because he text messages my sister who's a lot younger than me all day long. In a way the simplicity of the phone made it possible for him to develop a better relationship with my sister and I'm sure that he is glad he went through "the trouble" of setting up a contract just because of that. Now if I could only get him to setup a slingbox so that I could get all their dang channels we'd be set.

[citation][nom]ravewulf[/nom]I've still got the same basic phone I got for free around 4 or 5 years ago. It does calls, text, and picture messaging (even if it only takes crappy 640x480 images) and that's all I need. Mostly just calls and text messaging. I could get email if I wanted, but I don't care. Email can wait until I'm at a computer.[/citation]

Almost like my Nokia 7710 touch phone
which is seven years old
and seems to take bigger pictures than yours
plus some bad quality video
wait...it also seems to a radio
and I did buy an external GPS with local maps
which I actually used last years summer (2010) in Hailuoto
(front of Oulu, Finland)

$100 a month?! Hahahaha. Contracts?? Hahaha. Buy iPhone outright, pay $40/month for BYO phone plan. Sell iPhone whenever you like, and get most of your money back (good resale value). Just like a car. Only fools finance them.

Yeah! He should have compared to house with a mortgage

Delusional is what describes most droid-heads. Just amazing what Apple articles do to them. Its more fun than teasing my cat with a laser light! Just to note, droidheads, the Apple 4S has broken all pre-sales records for a smartphone. There's some new droid device on the market somehwere? who cares!

If Apple make a product called iPoop, I'd be the first to stand in the line to get one. Because I know it will revolutionize the way I poop! For the rest of you who don't get it, go get a life. Reasons not to get an iPhone 4S? who do you think you are?? Look at the first day pre-order numbers... geee

What a garbage article.
