[citation][nom]Camikazi[/nom]Well considering there are about 576 million CDMA subscribers in the world I would say more then just the US uses CDMA, so umm you are wrong[/citation]

Please cite your sources - not the CDMA promotion site, thanks.

Please also list the countries and regions -There are a few countries that have CDMA in certain markets, but the delta between CDMA and GSM is a few orders of magnitude.
I can personally attest to my Verizon CDMA cell phone being useless everywhere I've travled outside of the US....

Two things guaranteed to start a battle on open forums: politics and Apple products!
Good lord, anyone who actually might have read this article out of genuine curiosity would be completely turned off to nearly every phone after reading through the 3 pages of inflammatory comments....

[citation][nom]amk-aka-phantom[/nom]I don't need to convince tech illiterate people of anything, I just mock them[/citation]
Mock me. I'd bet cold, hard cash I know infintely more about embedded devices than you do, and I use an iPhone.

Oh, if you're sick of Apple articles, why do you click on them and respond multiple times? Just admit it: you're a useless hater who has no life, and your only enjoyment comes from posting garbage in Apple dicussions. If Tom's stopped writing about Apple, where would you go to bitch?

[citation][nom]amk-aka-phantom[/nom]That chart is full of $H!T! It says India and Russia ar on CDMA; well, they're NOT. GSM only! Oh wait, it says "... or in trial"... GTFO[/citation].

You said nobody outside the US uses CDMA. The site boasts 500M+ users worldwide which even if exaggerated will still be greater than all CDMA users in US, basically making your assertion false. Had you said the largest concentration of CDMA users is in NA I would have agreed with you, but you didn't.

[citation][nom]STravis[/nom]LOL - the fagtards in the the group voted down this particular gem, but NONE of them could challenge the valid points...[/citation]

And again no response by the android users. Well no response of any value.

inconsistent connection which quickly deteriorates when I leave my home. I can claim with confidence that 4G speeds are not quite a reality in the Chicago area

You do realize you just bad mouthed a Apple product and gave away your general location right? Those Apple fanboys are like swarming your place now getting ready to stone you to death with older Apple products (as is their custom). Run Wolfgang Gruener! You must hide where no Applolite will ever go! To Microsoft HQ!

[citation][nom]Montezuma[/nom]You do understand that UMTS/HSPA is based off of CDMA(W-CDMA, but still), right?[/citation]
Things are based ON other things, not based "off of" them.

I think the reason why there are so many FanDroids posting on an article about "Why you should't buy a 4gs" is because, exactly that!
Andriod users have shown an Apple how an android does exactly the same thing, only to hear the apple say ... "but it's not an Apple!"
Two oranges priced $2 and $1, will produce a particular kind of idiocy where people perceive that price is indicative of "this orange changes everything" .... even though there is little to discern them.
That's why there's many frustrated Android users.

India does have CDMA networks in place. I think people mainly use GSM but companies like Reliance use CDMA too, so naturally at least some of the people who subscribe to their network use CDMA.

But what do they CARE what other people use and do with their money? If I want to go blow a ton of money on a phone, what's it to them what phone I get? Besides, iPhones are no more expensive than comparable Android phones so cost shouldn't really figure much into the equation. Support for the phone however should and I'm pretty sure you can't point me to a 2+yr old HTC phone that is constantly being updated (software wise) by the carrier or the manufacturer.....Apple will supports the 3GS (released 06/09) with iOS5 extending further the life of that phone.

I am willing to pay for speed,
Apple iPhone 4S: 1 GHz dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor, PowerVR SGX543MP2 GPU, Apple A5 chipset

Apple iPhone 4: 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor, PowerVR SGX535GPU, Apple A4 chipset

See the difference? I can now compete with Galaxy S II? Sonyericsson ARC? Neo? Motorola Atrix? You name it!
