3D Resolution Active Vs Passive

Isn't the 3D resolution compromised in passive 3D TV's as compared to the active one?

That's a subjective question. Active 3D's are capable of providing images of 1920x1080p to each eye while black images are sent to the other one. In passive 3D however, the images you receive in each eye is 1920x540p. Before you release your horses, the two images are combined in the brain to give a full HD 3D effect. So no, PQ is not compromised.
