Solved! 3g / lte support?

Soooo my carrier sends me a letter saying I need to get new phones because they will no longer be supporting 3g phones. We have three phones, all of which read LTE/3g/2g under the mobile network tab. Now when I get full bars, I get a little 4GLTE icon in my notification bar. So my question is... am I in or out? Do I really need to get a new phone? Thanks

Mines a note 8, theirs is the A20? not sure , first generation galaxy A phones...
But Ive been seeing this question pop up all over with a variety of phones with no conclusive answers....

If you're getting 4G, then your phones are fine. This just means that you will only be able to use 4G, not 2G/3G.
