42 inch Sharp LC 42 LB261u

As I power up, the red light goes to Blue as normal and the sound comes on but the screen is dark. I turned out the lights and vaguely can see ghost images in the background and the images flicker off and on for about 10 seconds on 10 seconds off and continues that. In the back of my Sharp TV I have a power supply board a computer board and a VGA board or that's what we call them in school. Is the VGA card giving me my problems or could it be a bad component on the power supply board?
