After 7 years of trouble free service I believe my 920 has died. This
morning the power went out and 10 minutes later I had my generator on line.
I now notice the time is incorrect and when I powered on only the number 1
was displayed. I went through the power on/off procedure. I received the
warm-up display and then the number 1 was displayed again.
I hit options 6,4,4 and received "Set east and west limits before
programming a satellite. There are only a few satellites to choose from.
Does it need the battery replaced and where is the dealer address and phone
# to send it? Thanks to all.

And I think there was a thread recently about 920 batteries reaching
their end of life. Replacement boards too. Might want to dig that one
up.

Now wait a minute, maybe the home owner failed to "surge protect" his
electronic devices. Yes sir, here's the basics:

You will have to park your dish on G0-13 for several ;hours.

You can take a car battery to move the dish, and tune for G0-24

There are a few things you can try to see if it will revive it. The memory may
be scrambled.

Press options 6,5 and call your provider. They have a record of the Unit ID
and can tell if it has changed.

Power it down and unplug it for about 30 minutes, if this doesn't work you
can try leaving it unplugged all night.

Options 6778 then reset to factory defaults may help.

Disconnect the LNB cables and see if it will power up.

If you have G9 in the satellite list use it to find the Outdoor channel on Galaxy
10 xponder 24. Program Galaxy 9 to that position them tune to xponder
7 or 13 to see if the maps will download.

If all else fails www.atselectronics.com can repair the receiver.

It must have been a memory problem. I initiated a factory default (scary)
and reset my limits, programmed a few sats, called my provider for the
digital channels and guide. It all seems to be working normal but I'll see
when I turn it on tomorrow morning.
Thanks for everyones help.
Regards.

Consider some type of UPS to keep it going when the power goes out...
