4k Video Editing Laptop

Looking to buy a new laptop as mine is not up to the task of editing 4k video.

1. What is your budget?
-$1500

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
15" - 16"

3. What screen resolution do you want?
3840x2160

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
portable but plugged in a large portion of the time

5. How much battery life do you need?
not a factor

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
Yes. Various but some examples. WoW, Minecraft, World of Warships/Warplanes, Call of Duty(whatever the newest one is), Far Cry 5.
Graphic settings: High to Ultra

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)
Photo Editing/4k Video Editing

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?
at least 256 M.2 SSD. Have one in my current laptop and can probably upgrade to it if needed. Usually like to buy the laptop with cheapest option and upgrade after.

Currently I have an HP Omen 15t that I bought last year and stupidly did not get the upgraded GPU with more memory. I use Davinci Resolve for Video Editing and a 2GB GPU just isn't enough. Thought it was but was wrong. Specs are 8GB RAM; i7-770HQ; GeForce GTX 1050 2GB dedicated; 4k IPS screen. Will probably be selling it or donating it to my son or nephew or something.

After posting this, I just found these two. Still wouldn't mind some advice on this and maybe an opinion on the two. Thanks for any help/advice/direction given.

I am so impatient. I went with the 7577 but got it from Dell as Certified Refurbished. Saved a little and have heard good things about their refurbish program.

Love it. Have had no problems with it and it edits videos just as well as my desktop.

Ok cool. I am skeptical because I have read reviews saying there is some lag when opening new screens up (from the dell choosing between the integrated graphics and the graphics card) and the mouse pad lagging a bit, have you noticed anything like that?

I forgot about the track-pad. I use an external mouse so I haven't used it in a long time. I wouldn't say I have seen any lag with it though. Mainly its just not the greatest track-pad but it's not horrible either. I would recommend a external mouse for it just because it makes things easier and I am no fan of track-pads.

With regards to the video card, make sure to have the Nvidia Control Panel installed or it may come installed, I can't remember, and just make sure to change it so that apps you use most frequently use the dedicated card and not the integrated card. I did this for DaVinci Resolve, any games I play or apps I use most frequently and I have had no issues. The dedicated GPU is a beast and will handle pretty much anything you throw at it.
