5 year old laptop

I have a 5 year old laptop
I was wondering if 5 years old on a laptop is old or not
It's a Lenovo Y460 with an i3 2.4 ghz processor along with an upgraded 8gb ram

It depends, I have "old" HP 4550s (it is like 6 years now) running win8.1 which runs nicely and is usable in under 2 minutes from cold start. It's processor can't really handle anything demanding though so.. better question is, what do you aim to do with said laptop?

typing, spreadsheets, web browsing, it should do well enough, youtube videos? processor doesn't like the load all that much.
In short, yes, it is old and yes it can still be usable depending on what you want to do with it.

Depends on what you are doing with your laptop.

For games, yes it is a bit old, but you can still play current games with it on low or medium settings depending on the game.

That's like asking how long is too long.

If the system is running and doing what you want it to do, it's not too old.

At 5 years I am guessing your battery life is not too good now though, that may be the only thing you would need to replace in it.
