Hello. I want to make a 3.5 mm jack to 6.35 mm jack convertor at home. I have an old jbl headphone + microphone wire with a 3.5 mm jack that i intend to use along with a 6.35 mm jack connected to a guitar lead wire. I have cut the jbl wire to find several sub wires - two wires coloured red, one coloured green, one blue and the three other white. I have no idea which one is which. My lead wire has 2 ends most possibly the conductor and ground. It would be nice if i could get some assistance on this issue. Thank you. :)

Maybe some of the diagrams here might help? It sounds like the colors of your wires are different though.

Of course, if you wanted to use this to carry stereo audio, you would also need your 6.35mm connectors to have separate wires and contacts for left and right channels though.
