$800 laptop for daily uses

Im looking for a laptop that's around $800 max with good specs you know maybe a really good i7, i5, amd, processor with amazing battery life and really light/thinish. A apple product may is work if that good too because im buying it for someone who's going to college. Also a gaming laptop wont be bad but one that looks casual maybe.

Nearly all laptops only work with the OS that they came with.
