Hello guys!

I can't make a clear decision. I'm about to buy a laptop and currently looking at Lenovo Y50-70 with GTX 960M; i7-4720HQ; 8GB RAM; 256GB SSD. But also I found used Alienware M18X R2 laptop with 680M SLI; i7-3840QM; 16GB RAM; 1TB HDD on similar price.

I'm casual gamer and would love to be able play new titles like Fallout 4 or GTA V. GTX 680M SLI is equal to GTX 970M according to benchmarks, but it's old generation. Should I worry about this if I pick Alienware?

All in all, what would you pick for long time run?

I'd just get the alienware and put SSD in it (if you need it that much). The hdd of the alienware is faster as well 7200rpm vs 5400rpm. Also don't forget that the lenovo is with a cheap and lower-quality SSD than the one you would put in the alienware, not to mention that anything above 120GB ssd is a total waste more ofthen than not.

tough call. If not for the alienware having dual GPU (even if it's only 3 gens old...actually gtx 680 780 an 880m series are all kepler with different clocks faster clocks accordingly) and 16GB of ram I would say the lenovo would be the better bet having a SSD though less beefy in the GPU department. So that said I would likely take the alienware for raw frame rate and more ram. Not having an SSD stinks though.
