I have an MSI GE62 Apache Pro with the 970m and i find the performance in games to vary. For example with the exact same settings on mad mad or fallout 4 one day i will maintain a solid 60 fps all the time which is why they are set at those settings. Then the next day i go to play such as a few minutes ago and will get a fallout 4 frame rate fluctuating from 35-45 fps or mad max running at 50 fps with many drops as opposed to the rock solid 60 i get other times. Ill try closing tasks running ccleaner and such even restarting my laptop doesnt seem to fix the low fps. But if i were to not play for a few days th next time i play it may play at a solid 60.Any reasons as to why its like this and how to fix it?

Hi,

Does it happen when the laptop is connected to it's AC adapter or not? Here are some troubleshooting steps that may help.
- Do a clean install of the graphics card driver first.
- Go to Device Manager and uninstall the Nvidia graphics driver.
- Next is to open Programs and Features then uninstall anything related to Nvidia.
- Once completely uninstalled, download and install the latest driver.
- Here's the link: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx
- Reboot the laptop once the latest driver has been installed.
- After the reboot, do also set Nvidia as the default GPU.
