There has to be an explanation as to why my CE machine can access
computer shares in the network, that Resco File Explorer cannot. At the
moment resco tech support is clueless. I know that many computers here
have loaded personal firewalls for protection against local computers
since the network firewall only deals with outside Internet users, but
will not block local network users. Its odd how resco cannot access
these machines that I know believe have personal firewalls, while my CE
machine using explorer alone can read and write to these machines.
Maybe I am out to lunch or maybe this is a bug in the CE os that allows
bypassing of firewalls. If someone can explain this, then pelase do.
Until someone explains this, I'm going to assume this is a bug. Resco
File Explorer seems to be able to access computers without firewalls
just fine.

I do not know if PocketPC users also have this bug if it is one. PPC
users try accesing a computer on your network with a installed firewall
program (ie Norton personal firewall) with Resco File Explorer and then
using explorer directly. Tell me if you can gain access with Explorer
but are refused with Resco File Explorer. In explorer you need to know
the UNC address. \\servername

No problem, both ways, for almost 2 years now
using several versions of RFE
and an e750 running both 2k2 and 2k3.

Firewall integrated into my proxy server software, WinProxy
running on a W98SE box.
