Hello peeps. Thanks ahead of time for reading and answering my question.

I am on the hunt for a decent pair of over the ear headphones and have a budget of $100.

I will be using these for ,music,Video editing, and gaming.

I am coming from the skullcandy Hesh 2.0 which I have been very happy with but I feel it's time for an upgrade since they are now three years old.

I would rather they be closed or only semi-open.

The ATH-M50 is really good and you can find them cheap used or new for around $130 :) But if that is too high here are some of my personal favorites
- Sony MDR7506
- Sennheiser HD-280 PRO
- AKG K240
- Sennheiser HD 558 or 559s
- Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro (If you want the bass)

Hmm some really good choices here Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro and the Sennheiser HD 558 are out of my price range.

But as for the others it's a tough call to make I love the look of the akg and they have a detachable cable which is a huge plus in my book. I wonder how bad the 240s leak sound since they are semi open ? What is your thoughts on the Ath-M40x?

i just bought Audio Technica ATH-M50x studio headphones
and my brother for his girlfriend who is into music industry
Audio Technica ATH-M40x studio hheadphones
my brother who is a dj for about 12 years now, bought some other dj headphones, when he put on the M40-x he said to me he doesn'st even want to wear his dj headphones of 170 dollars....

read the reviews, these are unbeateble but it are studio headphones, so they are made to produce sound correctly, not to impress you by how much bass they can output...

the m40-x are 99 dollars so really unbeatable.

I own the Audio Technica ATH-M40x and I'm a headphones and headset guy. Everything about the headphones are great eg. build quality, sound quality, etc, but I will warn you the sound is on the flatter side. Here are some other headphones that are great in your price range:

Sennheiser HD 518 - http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-518-Headphones-Black/dp/B0042A68R8/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1424020330&sr=8-15&keywords=sennheiser

Audio Technica AD700X (great headphones but are open backed) - http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-AD700X-Audiophile-Headphones/dp/B009S332TQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1424020393&sr=8-2&keywords=audio+technica+ad500x

Panasonic RP-HTF600-S (credit to RazerZ) - http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-RP-HTF600-S-Stereo-Over-ear-Headphones/dp/B004MMEI8W/ref=sr_1_7?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1424020597&sr=1-7&keywords=panasonic+headphones

Those are pretty much it, Hope this helps!
