Hey, I've been looking at gaming headsets recently and I think I will soon be able to pick the one I want.

Could you guys tell me your opinion of which one is the better one? Surround sound is a must as I'm playing CS:GO a bit btw.. I'm not sure but I don't think the G4ME Zero has got 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound...? (I could be wrong) so thats why it's currently out.. Also, none of the headsets require a soundcard in your PC to work...? I just use the soundcard in my motherboard and don't think I will need a soundcard

*Sennheiser PC 363D
*Turtle Beach Z Seven
[strike]*Sennheiser G4ME Zero[/strike]

Tl: dr:
1. Which of the 3 listed headsets are better suited for gaming?
2. Does G4ME Zero got surround sound?
3. Do you need a soundcard in your pc for any of the headsets to work?

Solution
Surround doesn't mean much, actually. You can get something like Razer Surround to go with the G4ME Zero to give you surround sound, which is what I would go with. It has the best quality out of all those headsets, but it may need an amp. You can find one for $15.

I personally have the Sennheiser PC360. I also have a dedicated sound card (Asus Xonar DGX) that I use for surround sound. The sound quality is superb.

A buddy of mine has the 363s which are the same thing as the 360 except it has a USB dongle that gives you dolby 7.1 surround, however it wont be as good as a dedicated sound card. He still likes it though.

the pc363d is overpriced. you could buy the hd558's and pair them with a modmic and buy a soundcard like the xonar dg and have essentially the same thing for less money with a more bassy sound. perhaps not as nice looking but functionally similar and cheaper.

the 363 is rather bass light since its based on the 555/595

the 363 is not surround either, it is virtual surround. you can add this to any headphone by getting a soundcard with dolby headphone or cmss-3d/sbx (or other virtual surround technology).

for the price of the 363 ($300) you can do better if you were not opposed to seperates (clip on or boom mic + headphone + soundcard)

the mmx300 is similar but a bit more costly.
