My laptop suddenly will not bring up display upon power-up. The power light comes on and it sounds like it is beginning the boot process, but I do not see any activity out of the spoolling light. I wonder if I am having boot issues or just display issues??? I hooked up an external monitor, but it did not come on either........ it's amber "standby" light never went "green". I assume it is not receiving a signal from the computer. I waited a little while after power-up and tried Function and F5, F9 in order to switch to the external display without success.

Any suggestions or help will be appreciated!

Connect your laptop to wired router, and check inside the router whether it gets IP address assigned, then try to ping it. That way you will know whether OS starts up.
