Solved! About Intel HD Graphics for games

Hello,

I want to buy laptop Toshiba Satellite C640-X4012
Configuration is Intel i5-2nd Generation 2430M with 2.2 Ghz. 4GB Ram (DDR3) SD RAM. Intel HD Graphics.

Now the question is that Can I play games like GTA IV, Halo 2 and 3 or any high games on this laptop ?

If you are going to buy a laptop and you want to play those games you have to include a dicrete graphics card in the specifications. Once you include the seperate graphics card you will be able to play thos games, just don't expect to play at the highest settings.

It's not a good choice for games. You'll mostly be limited to low graphics settings in most recent games. Some older games might do better.

The laptop listed has an intergrated graphics chip , you would be right back where you started , you need a seperate graphics card to play any of your high games.

Acer Aspire AS5755G-6823 Notebook andrewcarr listed has a Core i5 2430M CPU and
NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M graphics card. Overall thats a pretty good combo for laptop gaming. Many games will run on Medium graphics settings and some might run on High.

I have had a laptop that had a seperate graphics card that was plugged into a slot in the motherboard. With todays laptops they may have gotten away from that process I don't know , I would have to do some reasearch to find out exactly but for now it appears that the Nvidia gforce 540m is an intergrated graphics chip that is better than the intergrated graphics that is on the cpu (Hd 3000 or Hd 2000) , and you should be fine playing your games.

Is there any laptop in which Graphic Card can be add separately ? If yes then which ?

This was a laptop that I had ordered a few years ago and as you can see the thing I was talking about was the GFX0058 ATI MOBILITY RADEON HD 4570 and I am under the impression that it is a seperate graphics card and not just a chip.

As you can see by the desription this is a dicrete card that plugs into a slot.
If you go to the Toshiba web page and run through the laptop builder you should be able to build your own laptop with a dicrete card.

The HD 3000 is the IGP and the GT 540M is the discrete graphics.

For what you want to play the integrated graphics on that computer just wouldn't cut it but the 540m should work. As far as I have searched on Newegg that is the best deal for that price here are some from better to best. Using this search.

there are much more expensive laptops that do what you are asking but for the price you are best going with the acer as it seems you don't want to spend too much.
