Hey all,

I'm about to invest in a laptop, as I plan to load up on college courses over the next couple of years, as well as travel relatively frequently. There are a few things I'm looking for:

1. Price range: Less than $1300.
2. A great keyboard for typing. I'm going to using this computer very frequently for writing. I'm a huge fan of the Macbook keyboard, so anything on par or close to that is ideal (I won't be getting a Macbook, for obvious reasons  )
3.Hardware which can easily handle music production software, such as Ableton and Reason. I'm not entirely sure if these programs are more dependent on RAM or CPU speed.
4. A solid, mid-range GPU for gaming - a GTX 960M, 970M, or AMD equivalent. Preferably with 3GB video memory or more.
5. A i5 or i7 CPU, or the AMD equivalent - preferably 6th gen.
6. Sturdy build quality - aluminum casing would be a huge plus.

Currently looking at the Acer Nitro v15 ( http://www.amazon.com/Acer-VN7-592G-71ZL-15-6-inch-Notebook-Windows/dp/B015XBKY6U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1460056242&sr=8-1&keywords=acer+nitro ) and DELL Inspiron i7559 ( http://www.amazon.com/Dell-Inspiron-i7559-763BLK-Full-HD-GeForce/dp/B015PYYDMQ/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1460056226&sr=1-2&keywords=dell+inspiron ).

My only concerns with these options have to do with the keyboard quality and build quality. Does anyone know how these keyboards hold up in comparison to a Macbook? Are there any better options?

Hi, just a suggestion.

Hard drive speed :7200Rpm
CPU clock speed: 3.3 -4GHz
RAM: 8GB 2133MHz or 12gb 1600MHz

I'm not naming any specific brand because they all do the same thing, right?

Lol, but anyway, I've added a solution to help you choose and it might save you some money in the long run.

Best of luck, Tom
