Acer Aspire 3050 power problems

I am not able to charge my battery, and the computer will not run with the battery out. Sometimes when I wiggle the power cord at the input, there will be a quick yellow charge light, but it is only lit for a second.

That sounds like either your charger or your laptop's power supply is faulty. It might simply be getting old and starting to die. You could try another battery and/or charger, but IDK if it will help.
