Acer aspire 5552 power on but black screen

When I turn the power on the blue power button lights up but the screen remains black, no other lights flash and the laptop is completely silent (no fans spinning etc). I've tried it with the charger on and off and no difference.

It stopped working suddenly when the charger was plugged in.

Hope this is eneough info and that someone else has had this problem!

Hi,

Are there other lights on the laptop other than the blue light indicator? Few things you can try, do a hard reset first by removing the battery and AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds. Plug just the AC adapter then see if it boots up just fine. If it does plug the battery back in and check also if it charges just fine. Next is to reseat the RAM, take them all off then put them back in properly into each slots making sure that they are all seated properly. If there's still no light what you ever a repair might be required already since the motherboard might had been faulty already.
