ACER ASPIRE 5740 displays no evidence that it is receiving power.

The LAPTOP displays no evidence that it is receiving power. The power brick LED is lit, but when the jack is inserted in the laptop, the blue power LED does not light

Last night I shut down my computer, as normal. Everything was fine. There was no battery inside, using AC power. Shut it down, pulled out the jack from the socket, and went to sleep. The next morning, plugged in the jack, and no blue light.

Maybe a bad power jack on the laptop, or maybe a break inside the wiring on the AC adapter, probably near the end that plugs into the laptop. I'd check the adapter first.
