Acer aspire 5920 died, how to retrieve all data from HD

Hi my acer aspire 5920 turned of last wk and will not power on anymore, to cut a long story short I took the HD out put it in a external hard disk enclosure plugged it into my desktop PC and it only seems to have the data that was on my (D drive) but most of my photos music etc we're on the (C drive) and I am worried I have lost all my photos of my little boy that I can't get back.
Sorry in advance if this is a silly question I am assuming their is 1 HD In the acer aspire although when u go to my computer it shows C & D drives, I don't know what to do I thought taking the HD out plugging it into my PC all my data photos music video etc would all show up but does not.

Judging by what you've said, you should go back to look for a second hard drive.
