Acer Aspire V5 1GHz processor upgrade possible?

Is it possible to upgrade the processor in my Acer Aspire V5-123-3466? It runs incredibly slow and I just noticed that it has a 1GHz AMD dual-core E1-2100 processor. I’m guessing that’s the culprit since it has 4g of RAM and 400+ gigs of hard drive space available.

On V5 models the processor is non-removable, hence can't be upgraded.

You should have chosen more wisely and checked the specs in advance of purchase, very important particularly with laptops since upgrade options are very limited compared to desktop computers.

If you can, return this really slow laptop.

Other options:
You could try a SSD instead of the used HDD
try installing ChromeOS, Ubuntu or any other Linux distribution instead of Windows

I didn’t buy it, actually. It was given to me to use at a place I used to work at and I was told I could keep it when I tried to return it after I had turned in my notice.
