Acer Bios/boot

Hello,
I have an Acer Aspire 5720Z, it is not starting up into Windows. It is stating the Bootmgr is missing. The F12 Boot menu is disabled. The options in the boot menu are grey, I cannot get access to them to change the boot order for the machine to boot up with the Vista Recovery DVD. How can these options be changed, or the F12 Boot menu be accessed to enable it?

is your BIOS recognizing your HDD?

It is not offering any options, all it is displaying is Bootmgr missing. It does not offer Dos or safe mode to establish if it recognising the HDD.

I am sorry I think I misread your question initially, the BIOS does show the HDD plus it attempts to boot from the HDD in the first instance.
