acer brand new laptop e574g

hey i just bought a new lap for my sis. and i was trying to install windows 7. but lap isnt showing cd dvd rom in the bootmenu. i changed the priority to cd dvd but ive read acer dont support windows 7. so any idea what i could do. i can get windows 8.1 if needed. 😀. and it came with linpus linux i think 😀

what do you mean. it just free os. i cant use that so how that suppose to breech the warranty? so icant just put the windows dvd and boot then install?

Does the dvd spin? You sure it's bootable?

yes dvd working with my rig. and dvd rom seems spinning. iam not sure about that tho. 🙁 you think i should try with windows 8 dvd?
i can get windows 8 if i could give it a try.

There is not such thing as Acer don't support Windows 7.... It depends on the operating system that comes on the laptop. If it is windows 8 or 10 , Microsoft sometimes bar a downgrade to an old OS like Windows 7. There is a way of going around the system to install the Windows 7, but that will breach the warranty instantly.

FWIW, laptops sold in India often come without Windows installed, or a version of Linux instead of Windows. Not sure if that has anything to do with the problem the OP is having. 😀

alright i just bought a windows 8.1 and installed it without any problem. i think this laps not supporting windows 7

They can't make a laptop that won't boot from a windows 7 disk or any version. If the laptop is not compatible, that would just be not having the drivers for it which I've run into before. Is it an oem dvd?
