Acer C7 or Similarly priced laptop? £300-350

It's for a family friend and they only really want a laptop for basic uses such as browsing the web,watching some online streams etc. I was intrigued by the concept of a chromebook but I'm not sure if it'll be better than a budget windows laptop on say an i3 or something.

eh crome books are ok they just dont pack alot of punch on the gpu side
