Add an antenna to a television that already has cable

So you have the cable directly to the TV? Then you can't have both on there unless you have a secondary antenna connection. What TV model do you have? Most modern setups don't use the Coax input but the HDMI or the Component HD connections. If you have an old TV with just a coax input you may need to get a source selector. Or a better idea, a newer TV. Used TVs with modern inputs can be found cheap, especially in the under 40" sizes.

Do you know how to do that? Would the cable wire have to be removed from the antenna jack in order to attach the antenna?
