Have these programs installed on three windows 7 pro machines for years. Recently, the machine used the most will not boot these programs. If I let the first screen just sit there until the machine sleeps, when I awaken it, the program is ready to use. Not so on the other two machines. I have reinstalled the programs, to no avail. I have set up a virtual PC on the machine using XP and the programs boot up quickly. I would leave it at that, but unfortunately I cannot get either of my Epson printers to install in the virtual PC. Any ideas?

Adobe's license for 7 and CS2 limit you to installing it on two computers (presumably a desktop and a laptop). It also says you're not allowed to use both copies simultaneously.

They haven't enforced these restrictions in the past, but it's possible they've started enforcing it now since that seems to be what all the cool kids (e.g. Microsoft) are doing nowadays. Have you tried seeing what happens if you disconnect the network on the problem machine, so software can't phone home, and try to start the programs?

That doesn't appear to be the problem, as I have set up a virtual PC using XP pro and the programs function ok when doing that route. I suspect a problem with windows 7 which may have been automatically updated and some file may have been deleted. I have no problem using the virtual PC mode, except, my epson printers do not operate in virtual pc mode. Thanks.
