Wondering if anyone has any links to getting started with video editing? I'm trying to get my feet wet with video editing by first starting off making easy stuff like gaming videos. Just some transitions, music, text, effects, etc.

Later on I want to move to real life and what not.

But was it a bad idea starting with Adobe Premiere 2.0? So far for my first video (a counter-strike one) I am having trouble finding how to do fades and video effects. Which seem like something that shouldnt be hard to do or find out how to do...

So does anyone have some good guides or tutorials to get me started? Or perhaps direct me towards a new friends video editing program ;)

Thanks

Adobe Premiere 2.0 is a good program to start with, but it does lean more towards the professional side then amature, but just download trainers on the internet (lynda or something) to get you started with the basics and then you will be well off. If you don't know what I'm talking about have more inquires, PM me.
