Adware Issues, Router Is Culpable?

So I am still having some adware problems, particularly with browser redirects now, which seem to apply an invisible layer over the webpage I am browsing, and whenever I click anywhere, I will be redirected to a new window or tab. I've used dozens of programs and have found no malicious files. I have also written 0's to my hard drive and reinstalled my OS, still with no luck. Doing a bit of research on this matter, I ran into something that said these kinds of viruses can embed themselves in the router. Is this true, and if it is, is there anyway I could find and remove it from the router?

Does it happen on other PCs on the same network? Does it happen if you view the pages over HTTPS?

I know there's a couple of ISPs who've done stuff like this; who is your ISP?

My ISP is Comcast, and no, it does not happen when viewing from HTTPS. I wish I could test this out on another PC, but I have no other working ones at the moment. It has, however, been happening on my tablet. The only other computer in the house is an iMac, and the iMac does not seem to be affected.
