age of empires isues

I bought age of empires gold edition and installed but when i press play on the game menu for single player it says insert disk . Why is it doing that? and I have windows 8.1

amazon its the 1st and 2nd part on one disk

Unless there instruction tell you otherwise, put the disk in the drive.
