laptops parts are integrated and usually cannot be removed or changed. when purchasing a laptop, its almost guaranteed that everything will not be unchangable except the hard drive, and dvd drive
 


Most laptop processors are sold both as μPGA (micro Pin Grid Array, removable) or BGA (Ball Grid Array, unremovable). The BGA processors are soldered directly to the motherboard and are not removable.
 
That's certainly possible. It's up to the motherboard manufacturer to select an appropriate form factor. Please keep in mind that your system's firmware may not have support for other CPUs. You'll need to find that out ahead of time
 

Thank you for the reply. So the Turion 64 Mobile MT-40 is the top end for this old machine? Do you think I'd see a difference from the MT-30 I have in it now?
