alot of the keys of my laptop dont work

so what happened was my laptop was plugged into the wall but someone unplugged it and it powered off so when i turned it back on everything below the caps lock to the pg down button stopped working.

so i am typing with an on screen board

i tried looking for solution but nothing worked

so can some help me the lap top i have is an HP Pavilion dv4 Notebook PC.

the cable on the inside might not be seated correctly, or something shorted out during the process of unplugging it.

on a side note, why did it shut off when disconnected? is the battery shot, or not present?

my laptops battery time when i am gaming is like 10-20 minutes

when not gaming its like two and a half to three hours
