Amd 7970m cf or nvidia 680m sli?

iIm planning on buying new laptop from xoticpc, a sager np9370 and im nt sure whether to get amd card or nvdia card. amd is 400$ and nvidia is 900$. buying amd will leave me 500$ to spend on other stuff. Do u think nvidia card is worth buying even with the price? my budget is 4000 and if u have good build pls suggest me

sli has disadvantages over single cards. micro studding, unsupported in some games, diminishing returns exc. exc. exc.
translation: 1 good gpu > 2 bad gpu's

Note this is just a general rule, not sure of the performance of the 2 cards compared to each other.
