Amd phenom ii x2 555 unlock?

Been trying to unlock a phenom x2 555 and have been having no luck. windows does simply not start and stays at the loading
screen. i heard giving a vcore boost might improve stability to boot into windows if this is the caze how would i go about
doing this?

Oh i have a an asrock m3a770de motherboard if that helps

You probably found out the reason your 555 was sold as a X2. There should be an option in BIOS to increase the vcore, I do not know if that helps.

how much should i increase it by though? not really done much overclocking or anything before so i wouldnt know

the smallest increments that it allows and after 2 or 3 I would give up.

Another option to the same effect is to decrease the CPU multiplier to see if it will boot at a lower speed.

There is also a slight possibility that you only have one bad core. In which case, you could try enabling the "extra" cores individually and seeing if you can boot it as a triple core with either of the "extra" cores.
