Hello sir,

I have a AMD Phenom II X4 BE processor. So its a 4 core processor. But when i unlock cores manually, bios shows 6 cores to unlock.

is that possible?

But when i manually unlock all 6 cores and boot up, CPU-Z shows only 4 cores.

what is happening? any idea?

Solution
Your BIOS shows that it is a Phenom II X4 955 BE which is also NOT an unlockable processor. The 5th and 6th core shown on the advanced page apply to the Phenom II X6 processors, not to any X4 (except, maybe the 960T).

The Core unlocker that is built into your BIOS is designed to unlock any processor including those that don't need to be unlocked. If your processor doesn't get any more cores after running the unlocker, then you don't have one that needs to be unlocked.

Also, the Phenom II X4 965 BE is not known as an unlockable processor.

The Phenom II X4 955 (what is says in your BIOS screen) is a Deneb chip, so there are only 4 cores. If it was a Thuban chip, you might have had a chance at unlocking the other 2 cores.

It's not possible, even if the option is there. Look at my reply above.

Not talking about THAT kind of unlocking. There are NO cores to unlock on a PII X4 955 BE. Only 4 exist.
